On October 29th, the China-Philippines National Vocational Skills Competency Standards Development Seminar, co-hosted by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority of the Philippines(TESDA) and China-Philippines Silk Road Institute Foundation, and organized by Zhejiang College of Construction, was successfully held in Hangzhou.
Attendees included Lan Jingjing, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Division, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education; He Qingfeng, Party Secretary of Zhejiang College of Construction; Mr. Vidal D. Villanueva III, Deputy Director General of TESDA; and Zhang Hongyang, Chairman of China-Philippines Silk Road Institute Foundation, who all delivered opening remarks. Over 160 participants attended the seminar, including representatives from TESDA, Philippine institutions, Chinese institutions involved in the development of vocational skills competency standards across various fields, as well as experts from relevant industries and organizations from both China and the Philippines. The conference was chaired by Tang Zongli, President of Zhejiang College of Construction.
Leaders from the initiating units of the China-Philippines Vocational Education and Skills Development Alliance jointly pressed the launch button. Subsequently, representatives from Zhejiang College of Construction and Zhejiang General Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Zhang Hongyang, renewed the cooperation agreement for the China-Philippines Silk Road Institute. During the seminar, MOUs were signed for the Philippines National Vocational Skills Standards Development Cooperation Project.
During the thematic discussion session, representatives shared their insights on the topic. The China-Philippines cooperation institutions were divided into six groups for in-depth discussions, focusing on the following areas: construction, information and communications technology, agriculture, healthcare, hospitality, renewable energy and electric vehicles.
